Terms of Service

Effective date: June 11, 2026 · Applies to the Nablix desktop app (official edition) and the nablix.app website

The short version: Use Nablix for anything lawful, personal or commercial. Your notes are yours. Paid plans are sold through Lemon Squeezy with a 14-day refund window. Code you run in Nablix runs with your own privileges — review it like you would in any terminal. The app is provided as-is.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Afterglow Laboratory ("we", "us"), the developer of Nablix, regarding the Nablix desktop application (official edition) and the nablix.app website (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing or using Nablix, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. License to use Nablix

We grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Nablix on devices you own or control, for any lawful purpose including commercial work. You may not:

redistribute, sell, rent or sublicense the app or license keys;
circumvent license enforcement or plan limits;
reverse engineer the app, except to the extent applicable law permits it notwithstanding this clause.

3. Free plan

The Free plan includes the limits published on our pricing page (currently 20 pages and 1 workspace folder, with certain features reserved for Pro). We may adjust Free-plan limits in future versions; if we do, content you already created always remains viewable, editable and exportable.

4. Paid plans and billing

Paid licenses (Pro monthly, Pro yearly, Lifetime) are sold by Lemon Squeezy, LLC as merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy's own terms and privacy policy apply to checkout, payment, taxes and invoices.
Prices are listed in USD; applicable taxes may be added at checkout depending on your country.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime via the Lemon Squeezy customer portal (My Orders); access then continues until the end of the paid period.
We may change prices for future purchases; changes never apply retroactively to a Lifetime license you already bought, and subscription price changes take effect only at your next renewal, with prior notice.

5. License keys and activation

A license is personal to you and may be activated on your devices. You can deactivate a device and activate another at any time from within the app.
Keep your key confidential. Do not publish or share it.
We may deactivate keys that are refunded, charged back, resold, or used in clear violation of these Terms.

6. Refunds

If Nablix is not for you, contact us at afterglowlaboratory@gmail.com within 14 days of purchase and we will issue a full refund. Statutory consumer rights in your jurisdiction remain unaffected.

7. "Lifetime" licenses

A Lifetime license is a one-time payment that permanently unlocks all Pro features, including future updates of Nablix. "Lifetime" refers to the lifetime of the product. If development of Nablix is ever discontinued, your installed app and license keep working — your notes are local files and never depend on our continued existence.

8. Bring-your-own-key AI

AI features require an API key you obtain from a third-party provider (e.g. OpenAI or Anthropic). Your use of that key is governed by your agreement with the provider, and usage costs charged by the provider are your responsibility.
Content you submit to AI features is sent to your chosen provider. Do not submit content you are not permitted to share with that provider.
AI output can be wrong. Verify before relying on it.

9. Code execution

Nablix can execute code blocks using the interpreters and compilers installed on your machine, with your operating-system privileges. You are responsible for the code you run. Review code before executing it — especially code generated by AI or copied from the internet. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage caused by code you choose to execute.

10. MCP and third-party tools

If you enable the built-in MCP server, third-party AI tools you configure may read and modify the currently open page and its workspace. Those tools are not ours; their behavior is governed by their own terms. You decide whether to connect them.

11. Updates

The official edition may check for and offer updates automatically. We recommend staying current; some fixes (including security fixes) are delivered only through updates.

12. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to violate the law, infringe others' rights, or probe, overload or abuse the licensing infrastructure or this website.

13. Your content; our software

Your notes belong to you. We claim no rights over content you create in Nablix and, as described in the Privacy Policy, we never receive it. Nablix itself, including its design, code and branding, remains the property of Afterglow Laboratory.

14. Disclaimer of warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Back up data that matters to you.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Afterglow Laboratory shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim (or USD 10 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability arising from our intent or gross negligence.

16. Termination

You may stop using Nablix at any time. We may terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms and (where the breach is curable) fail to cure it after notice. Termination never deletes or locks your local notes.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; the current version always lives at nablix.app/terms with its effective date. Material changes will be announced in release notes. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

18. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

19. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. The English version of these Terms is authoritative; translations are provided for convenience.
